PSHE
Personal, Social, and Health Education (PSHE) is central to the curriculum across the whole school. PSHE assists pupils to cope with changes at puberty, introduces them to a wider world, supports with managing transitions and enables them to make an active contribution to their communities. The concepts covered in PSHE include identity, managing feelings and emotions, relationships, change, resilience and being healthy. These are all taught alongside physical, emotional and social well-being.
PSHE is taught throughout the school from EYFS to Year 6 using the Jigsaw scheme of work. It is supported by extra-curricular activities, such as team sports, learning during topic lessons and JLT (Junior Leadership Team).
Learning is consolidated through focus weeks, such as Anti-bullying Week, Road Safety Week, Democracy Week and Online Safety learning. These are celebrated through displays and activities to raise awareness and to understand how learning is applied locally, nationally and globally.
Our PSHE leads are Mrs Seymour and Miss Macken.
